Hi Pretties!

I found Polyvore.com and have found an endless source of entertainment. The website allows you to put together outfits from thousands of items, and you can chose the price range you “shop” from; I didn’t set any price limits because I didn’t want to limit my choices. Some of the items get really expensive, and I know I cant afford them right now :-/; Instead of being bummed, I can take my outfit and find more affordable versions of the items. Here is my first creation:

Hello Beautiful Ladies!

How’s your weekend going? I watched Precious with my best friend, Shannon, and loved it! Sad story, but so inspirational; it made me realize that my problems really aren’t that bad. Today I went over to the bf’s house in my yoga pants (ha, I don’t do yoga) and hoodie (gotta love comfy clothes on lazy Saturdays lol), and watched more True Blood…does anyone else think Stephen Moyer is beyond attractive? I love that his character is a Southern gentleman, the accent and his mannerisms get me every time! Danny (the bf) is coming over after work so we can watch the last episode of season 1, I cant wait!

So, this blog is going to be 90% makeup and clothes, but the last 10% will be reserved for music and photographs that I love. Feel free to share any songs you like with me, I’m always open to new stuff! Here are some songs that I’m loving right now…

BIG Shampoo?

Can’t get this song out of my head!

Happy Wednesday!

The first week of class is over and I am officially on my way to working in the world of fashion/retail merchandising. My professors all seem awesome and I am not going to sleep for the next five months! Ah, who needs sleep? I’ll sleep 8 hrs a night when I win the lotto and don’t have to work :-). Along with classes, I’ve gone back to the gym and working towards dropping 4 pants sizes by the end of the year, at least one by March. It’s not easy to work full time, take three classes, AND go to the gym…but I have to do it to be happy and healthy!

On to the good stuff! I’ve read so many awesome reviews for Lush’s BIG shampoo and decided to give it a try. It was $21.35 plus shipping and it delivered in about two weeks from Canada. I didn’t realize that there was a Lush store just 25 mins away from my house until after I had placed the order…oh well, now I know!

The shampoo comes in black screw cap tub that reminds me of a yogurt container. It has instructions, along with a picture of the person that made it (thanks, Nic!). The actual shampoo is like margarita salt in a lemony/sweet mix, I loved the smell!

When I used this shampoo, I had uber dirty hair, so I needed it to do a good job. I took a small amount from the jar, about a teaspoon, and started working it into the top of my scalp. Not going to lie, it felt WEIRD! After a minute of massaging the shampoo in, all of the salt was gone and I had a nice lather going. As I was massaging the shampoo around my scalp, I could tell that this stuff was not moisturizing at all, but it was leaving my hair really clean. After a rinsed, my hear was literally squeaky clean! I have hair down to my waist, and a lot of it, but the strands are thin and tangle easily so I had to work a good conditioner into it afterward so I would be able to brush it out. My hair dried super fast and after blow drying, it was bouncy and shiny.

I am very happy that I purchased the shampoo, next time I’ll pick it up at the Lush store though, lol. Yes, the shampoo is pricey, but I think it’s worth it because it will last a long time. BIG is very clarifying, but I think the lemon/lime juice in it is too drying to use every day, so I’ll only be using this once or twice a week depending on how much hair product I’m using that week. I honestly can’t remember the last time my hair felt so soft and soooo incredibly clean.

Keep in mind that if your hair tangles easily, you’ll have to use a heavier conditioner to balance out the dryness, but the shampoo is worth a shot if you feel like splurging!

Parakeet Eyes

Happy Monday Muchachas Bonitas (pretty ladies)!

Trying to catch my breath! I started class today and headed to the gym afterward…I wish I had that pretty flush that some girls get after working out, I’m just red :-/. Oh well, it will be worth it!

I did some shopping with my best friends this past Sunday and did a really fast eye that the MAC makeup artist said it made her think of a parakeet lol, she said she wanted to try it! Side note: I signed up for my first MAC master class!!

Start by putting a green base on your lid, up to the crease.

Take green eyeshadow and fill in your eyelids, a bit past the crease.

Blend a champagne shadow along the brow and soften the lines from the green shadow.

Use the green shadow and blend it along the lower lashline. Take some gold shadow and blend it into the inner corners of your eyes.

Line along your upper lash line with liquid or pencil.

Line your upper and lower waterlines.

Add mascara, fill your brows, and you’re done!

Simple Grey Smokey Eye

Hi Pretty Ladies!

How’s your Saturday coming along? I’m full of chinese food, watching the Cowboys game, and texting my bf updates on the score while he’s at work. It’s been a laaaazy day today, slept in until noon and have been in yoga pants and a hoodie all day. Ah, relaxing is awesome!

Anyway, I did a really easy smokey eye for work yesterday and wanted to share.

Products used:
Eyes:
Benefit F.Y…Eye! Primer
MAC Night Divine eyeshadow (gunmetal grey)
MAC Silver Ring eyeshadow (satin silver)
MAC Mylar eyeshadow (bone colored, not shimmery)
MAC Dazzlelight eyeshadow (shimmery off white)
Revlon Colorstay liquid liner in blackest black
Stila Eye Kajal in Onyx
Sigma SS224 crease brush
Studio Tools medium shadow brush
MAC 217 pencil brush
Brows: filled with MAC Espresso eyeshadow

Face:
MAC Studio Sculpt concealer in NW15
Makeup Forever Mat Velvet+ in 20
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium
Smashbox Charm blush

Lips:
MAC Ample Pink plushglass

Start with a primer, and use the gunmetal color on your lid up to the crease.

Blend, blend blend! It should look like this.

Take a fluffy crease brush and blend the lighter silver into the crease and blend.

It will look like this

Clean off and use the same fluffy brush to blend a bone, matte, eyeshadow all along the brow. Make sure to soften any harsh lines from the dark colors on your lid.

It should be soft 🙂

Take a white-ish shadow with a little more shimmer and put it right under the arch of your brows. A single rebel hair made its way into the pic…

Also blend some into the inner corners of your eyes to brighten them up. Another hair wanted to be featured in the tutorial lol

Line along the top lashes. It’s up to you how thick/thin you want it, I also added a little wing to the end for more of a cat eye effect.

Take a black pencil and line your upper waterline. Hello crazy eye!

Also line your lower waterline. Don’t stab yourself in the eye like I did, it wont feel good…

Now take some more of the gunmetal shadow and blend it along your lower lashline.

Add mascara and you’re done!

Here’s the finished eyes and face. My bangs kept getting in my face everytime I took a picture, I hate when they act out lol.

Mini Mall Haul…

Good Evening Dolls 🙂

I went shopping after work today to spend gift cards and to try some new makeup. Check out my mini haul below:

Stila Illuminating Powder in Rose Gold. This stuff is so pretty and shimmery, I love putting this above my cheekbones when I go out, it catches the light and makes your skin look glowy. $32 at Stila and it’s also available at Sephora.



MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in Medium. I use this as my everyday cover up, it’s not heavy and it never gets cakey. $25 at MAC stores and counters.

Make Up Forever Mat Velvet +. I’m going to give this a try and review it at the end of the week :-). $34 at Sephora.

Went to Pacsun with a gift card from my awesome sister and bought these t’s 🙂
