Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2011 Makeup

Hello Beauties!
Happy Monday :). The weekends have been flying by too fast, I think it’s because xmas is coming up and I haven’t done any of my shopping yet. Ah, well, I’ll make it happen ;). As you all know, last week the Victoria’s Secret fashion show aired so I decided to recreate the makeup for all of you. Although the show itself is very glam and over the top, the makeup was pretty subdued and low maintenance.

A few behind the scenes pics from the show. These women are some kind of obnoxiously attractive species of female, it’s really not fair :P.

The look was based around flawless skin, rosy cheeks, strategic highlighting, and lightly defined eyes. Sorry for the pic quality, it was one of those days!
Photobucket The eyes were lined in black with a slight wing on the outer corners, followed up with lots of mascara and groomed brows.

The foundation was buffed in really well and blush was applied right on the apples of cheeks, carried a little higher into the hairline. Lips were a soft, glossy pink.

::Products and application::
Face:
-MUFE HD primer buffed in with a flat top foundation buffer.
-MUFE Matt Velvet + foundation buffed in really well with a flat top foundation buffer. Applied two very thin coats for best coverage.
-MUFE Full Cover concealer on blemishes and under eyes.
-Tarte Smooth Operator translucent powder buffed over foundation.
-MAC Well Dressed and Stunner blushes blended together starting on the apples of the cheeks, carrying the leftover color up along cheekbones to the hairline.
-Cargo bronzer (the lightest shade) blended along hairline, along hollows of cheekbones, and jawline.
-Laura Mercier highlighting powder in Starlight blended on top of cheekbones going up and around brows.

Eyes:
-Revlon Colorstay liquid liner.
-Covergirl Lashblast mascara.

Lips:
-Rimmel 1000 kisses lip liner in Natural.
-MAC Creme Cup lipstick.
-Smashbox Pixel gloss.

What did you think of the show? Let me know if you recreate the look, I’d love to see!

Two EOTD’s Featuring Inglot Colors

Happy Sunday Beauties!
How are you? I’ve been in my pj’s for most of the weekend, trying to get over being sick. Took a quick trip to Hollywood yesterday morning and I cannot wait to show you the haul from my new favorite makeup store :). Here are some EOTD’s I threw together using my new Inglot colors for most of the eyelid, blending out with some Urban Decay neutrals. I’m even more obsessed with Inglot now, they held up all day along with being really nicely milled and pigmented.

Happy Sunday Beauties!
I hope you’re all having a great weekend :). I’m staying in today, trying to rest up before another busy week. Seriously, cannot wait for this semester to be over so I can sleep more than 5 hours a night. The wedding I did makeup for went beautifully and I cant wait to post pics when the photographer gets them back to the bride :). Makeup school is moving along fantastically and I’m a little sad that I only have a month left to go. I’ve been learning so much, and making awesome friends in class–taking the course has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’ve got business cards printed and now I’m going to start working my butt off to build up a clientele and get my name in the industry. If you’re in Southern California and would like to get glammed up, send me and email and we’ll set something up :). Here’s a 50’s inspired FOTD from yesterday:

Before lipstick. Just did some neutral contouring around the eyes along with some dramatic winged liner and lots of mascara:

Mermaid Blue EOTD

Hi Babes!
I hope you’re all having a lovely weekend! I’m typing this from the family computer while I have 10 minutes before someone starts yelling, “It’s MY turn!!”
My poor laptop has been down for the past week; the screen hinges broke and it’s being worked on. Hoping I get it back for tomorrow, I have too many things to review. Here’s a quick EOTD created with my Coastal Scents 88 shimmer palette:

Aaaand now I gotta get back to studying for my midterm. Will be posting again later this week. Cannot wait to share all of my new goodies with you dolls :D.

Makeup Homework Pt. 1

Hello Beauties!
I hope you’ve all had a great weekend :). Mine has been pretty relaxing, thankfully. I have a girls trip to Vegas next weekend, so I’m saving my energy and money for then lol. Makeup school is coming along beautifully, I really love the classes and my instructor, Susie. We’ve covered basic foundation, transitioned into contouring, learned about eyebrows, and we’ve just started working on eyeshadow technique/styles.
One of the hardest things about this class is learning new ways to apply makeup. After years and years of playing with cosmetics and more recent freelance work, I’ve developed my own way of doing everything, so I’ve had a though time trying to relearn what I thought I already knew. I want to get the most out of this experience and Susie’s has asked that we try doing things her way; she taught MAC makeup artists for 10 years and has a lot of experience in the industry, so I know I have a lot to learn from her and feel really thankful to have gotten her as my instructor. I’ve been feeling like a righty trying to write with their left hand, but it’s coming along, and it’s also opened my eyes to new ways of looking at light and color. I’ll be posting some of my homework and practice looks to track my progress throughout the course. Here’s a quick look I put together yesterday using her basic eyeshadow placement/application technique.

What have you all been up to this weekend?

A Pop of Blue

Been on a wine kick recently, in love with these glasses.

Hello Beautiful Readers,
I hope you’re all having a great Monday :). I’m home, taking a break from Anthropology studies to share a look I put together this past weekend.
The bf and I were going to run some errands, so I decided that I’d have a little fun with my makeup without going over the top and looking crazy. My outfit consisted of faded blue jeans, a really flowy cream top, brown leather flip flops, and burnished gold jewelry. Instead of adding a bright accessory, I decided to add a pop of vibrant color to my eye look. Here are the results:

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Products Used:
*Eyes*
-UDPP all over the eyelid, inner corner, and along lower lashes.
-Urban Decay Smog e/s all over lid, just past the crease.
-Urban Decay Darkhorse lightly blended into the outer part of the crease.
-SMH e/s in Walkin’ After Midnight along lower lashes.
-Stila highlighting shade (I don’t know the name :/) along brow bone.
-Ulta Extreme Wear gel liner in Perfection (a shimmery deep brown) along upper lashes.
-Revlon Colorstay pencil liner in Navy on lower waterline, set with SMH Walkin’ After  Midnight eyeshadow.
-Covergirl Lashblast mascara in blackest black.

*Face*
-MUFE Full cover concealer in 4 on blemishes and under eyes.
-MUFE Matt Velvet + foundation in 20.
-MAC MSFN in Medium to set the foundation.
-MAC Stunner blush.
-Laura Mercier Mineral highlighter.

*Lips*

How you you feel about pops of bright color in makeup?

Purple EOTD, Take Two.

Hi Babes,
Took a break from helping the bf finish moving the rest of his stuff into his new place to post today’s eye look. I’m still playing with purples, but I did a softer version of yesterday’s look for my bride-to-be friend :). I don’t have my shadows with me, but let me know if you want a tutorial/how to for the look. Happy Sunday!
