E.l.f. Cream Eyeliner Review

Photobucket My niece, Elizabeth, enjoying a tostada lol. She hasn’t quite mastered the art of eating like a lady.

Hello Dolls!
Happy Saturday! I slept for a glorious 11 hours last night and feel amazing :-D. If you’ve been reading my blog, you know that I love e.l.f. brand brushes because of their great quality and budget friendly prices. I picked up one of the cream eyeliners in purple at Target the other day to try out and I’m in love again! The packaging is really cute and the liner comes with a little brush that’s surprisingly good quality. The consistency is really smooth and creamy, almost like a gel; it glides on easily and is nicely pigmented.
One thing that I always check for with liquid/gel liners is their water resistance (I’m a crybaby lol). I swatched the liner on my wrist and let it dry for 5 minutes before I tried washing it off with just water; it didn’t budge, even with rubbing. I was able to take it off with face soap and warm water. For $3, you can’t really go wrong with these, I can’t wait to get all of the other colors. You can find the liners at Target and at the e.l.f. website.

Have you tried these liners? If so, what did you think of them?

Have an awesome weekend!

Rockstar Pink NOTD

Photobucket Currently obsessed with spike and stud details on heels. A mix of sexy and badass :-).

Hi Dolls,
I hope you all had a great weekend! It’s pouring here in Southern California, but I’ve been enjoying it by staying indoors and lazying around the house while watching TV (I never get to do that anymore!). This weekend I’ve been watching True Blood reruns, Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern, and The Walking Dead (scary!). Have you been watching any series that you can recommend?
I was walking through Target the other day with nothing on my shopping list, so I stopped by the beauty department. The polishes had been freshly restocked and all of the colors were available, so I spent some time looking for something that I didn’t already have. Rockstar Pink by Sally Hansen caught my eye because it was such a dense pink based glitter polish that wasn’t gloopy when I pulled the brush out. At just under $3, I couldn’t walk away from it! As soon as I got home, I had to put the color on.
If you’ve ever used a glitter polish before, you know how hard it can be to work with and remove. Instead of applying Rockstar Pink directly to my nail, I applied one coat of Orly’s First Kiss to give it a base and so removal wouldn’t be so difficult. I wanted my nails to be completely covered in glitter so I had to use three coats of Rockstar Pink. I waited about 5 minutes between each coat so the polish layers could get a grip and wouldn’t snag on the brush. After the third coat, I waited another 5 minutes and applied two coats of Sally Hansen Megashine Topcoat.

*Tip: Glitter nail polish can be a little loud; to keep bright colors from taking over, keep your nails short and filed squared with slightly oval corners. This makes a bright mani more wearable in conservative environments like offices or school.*

I couldn’t stop staring at my nails once they were done, they were so sparkly and pretty! I wear a lot of black to work, so this was a perfect little pop of color and brightness. I can see myself wearing this color for a night out in Vegas :-).

How do you feel about glitter nail polish?

Thankful Friday!

Happy Friday!
We made it :-D. The past week at work almost broke me, it was so stressful! I found myself on the verge of one of those at my desk meltdowns a few times, but it’s all over and I’m feeling fabulous on this beautiful Friday. Instead of listing all of the things that went wrong this week, I’m going to focus on the great stuff that’s in my life. Here’s a little list of things that make me happy right now:

-Drop Dead Diva. This show has cracked me up and I couldn’t get through the first two seasons fast enough. At the end of my stressful days, I was able to come home and relax/laugh while watching the show.
-Bright nail polish. Seems silly, right? Well, it might be, but a bright mani always makes me feel better. Check out the color I’m wearing today: Turned Up Turquoise by China Glaze. GORGEOUS!
Photobucket (Pardon the blurry pic, I had to take it with my phone.)
-Worn in jeans. You know, the ones that have molded to all of your curves and feel like home when you put them on? Wearing a pair today :-).
-Sunny days.
-Best friend to email/text about anything. I would go insane without Shannon.
-Good music! I’m in a country mood right now. All over fun and upbeat songs right now.
-Limon Lays chips. If you haven’t had them, do so, asap! They’re tangy/savory little bits of heaven.
-Random acts of kindness.
-Complements from strangers. Especially in the morning.
-My lovely readers. I look forward to all of your comments and emails, they make my day ;-).

What are you thankful for today?

Have a beautiful weekend dolls!

Orange Crush

Orange Rose

Hello Beauties!
Happy Saturday :D. I hope you’re all having a beautiful weekend. It’s kind of rainy and cold here in SoCal, but I’m making the best of it by staying home in my pajamas watching Drop Dead Diva. I had nothing to watch last weekend so I started surfing Netflix and found the series and now I’m hooked. It’s kinda cheesy, but so cute, and it makes me actually LOL. I recommend it if you’re a fan of chick flicks :P.
On to the important stuff! I’ve recently developed a serious color crush (infatuation) with the color orange. I’m my 23 years, I’ve NEVER been a fan of the color so I surprised myself. I’ve been very drawn to citrus-y colors recently because they are cheery, bright, and remind me of summer. I’ve picked up nail polishes, eye shadows, lip glosses, and a few accessories in the color because I can’t get enough of it. I have to note that I’m drawn to the color for accessories and makeup, I don’t know that I can pull of an entire top or dress in it with how pale I am, so little pops of color will have to do. I created a little idea collage on Polyvore this morning:

What’s your color crush right now?
