Zoya Haul

Hello Beauties!
I hope you all had a lovely weekend and that summer has arrived where you live :).
I know I haven’t posted in a week, but I’ve been in kind of a clothing/makeup rut. It feels like I have nothing to wear, my makeup doesn’t look right, and I can’t seem to find anything when I go shopping. These ruts happen to me every once in a while, and they always suck lol. Do you ever go through this?
I’m going to be reading a lot of fashion/makeup magazines and blogs for inspiration, and I’ll be back to my normal self soon enough. For now, are there any looks that you’d like for me to try? Any celebrity makeup that you’d like for me to recreate? Send me your suggestions, I’d love to try them!
One bright spot in the past week has been the delivery of my new Zoya polishes. I’m crazy about this brand, and can’t wait to acquire more colors! Check out the little haul below:

-Avril- light pink with just a tiny bit of mauve in it. It was almost opaque with two coats. Beautiful for every day, goes with everything.
-Portia- very light pink, leaning to white. It was opaque with two coats. I could see myself wearing this to a summer wedding :).
-Elodie- a lovely coral jelly. Formula was good, but needed three coats. I’ll be reaching for this color a lot this summer.
-Breezi- described on the Zoya site as a “soft, dusty, dirty medium cerulean blue with an opaque cream finish”. Formula was amazing on this one, and completely opaque with two coats. Love this blue, I don’t have anything else like it.
-Kieko- a red toned purple cream, completely opaque with two coats. This is sooo fun, I can’t wait to wear it on my toes :D.

Subtle Definition EOTD

Happy Friday Babes 🙂
We made it! So excited for this weekend, I’ll be going to Laughlin on a party bus with the bf’s cousins on Saturday…it should be interesting lol. What do you all have planned this weekend?

I went out with Shannon last weekend and had a lot of different colors on so I decided on a neutral eye with a little bit of definition that wouldn’t compete with my clothes. I keep reaching for the Naked palette because it goes with everything, but I promise to start reaching for my brights again. Are there any eyeshadow colors you’d like to see me create an EOTD with?

A Haul and a Review

Awwww. Just sending some cuteness your way!

Happy Thursday Dolls!
I needed some retail therapy and hit up Ulta for a beauty fix, here’s the little haul:

-Garnier Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue Gel-Cream $7.99.
-Sally Hansen Mega Shine Topcoat (still a favorite!) $6.99.
-Clean and Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets $4.99.
-Zoya polish in Dita $7.

The item I was most excited about is the Garnier Gel-Cream. I’d received a few samples in the magazines I’d subscribed to and loved how quickly the gel absorbed, how light it felt, and that it didn’t make my skin oily. During the summer, my skin tends to go into oil production overdrive, but I don’t like to go without moisturizer, so this is perfect. The cream smells fresh, but the scent isn’t overwhelming and it dissipates almost immediately after it absorbs. So far, my skin hasn’t flipped out on me, but I’ll keep you all updated with any changes. Have you tried it?

Half Baked

Getting Liz Dolled Up!

Hi Beauties,
I hope you’re all having an amazing long weekend! I’ve been spending a lot of time with my girlfriends, sleeping in, and catching up on some favorite shows.
One of my closest friends, Liz, asked me to do her makeup for a wedding yesterday. I always have so much fun doing other people’s makeup, and it felt so nice to get a text from her at the end of the night saying, “I don’t want to wash it off!!” :).

Gunmetal Smoke

Happy Friday!
I hope you’re all having a good day :). If any of you live or have loved ones in the area affected by the tornadoes, my heart goes out to you and I hope you’re all safe and sound. I was listening to some of the stories told by residents of the area on NPR over the past week and it just breaks my heart. Stay strong and keep your head up, my thoughts and prayers are with all of you!

Gettin’ Naked…With Urban Decay

Hello Beauties,
I hope you’re all having a wonderful week. I’m FINALLY done with school for the summer 😀 and looking forward to having nights off for walks, concerts in the park, and lots of adventures with my friends.
On to the good stuff! I cannot tell you how much I love the Naked Palette from Urban Decay. The colors are all perfect neutrals that are great for work, and easily vamped up for a night out. Seriously, the $50 I paid were so worth it, and I will be getting a backup soon. If you don’t own it already, I highly recommend picking one up if you’re a serious makeup junkie. Here’s a look I put together for a night out with the boyfriend:

-Darkhorse on eyelid, up to crease and along lower lashes.
-Smog along crease and blended into the edge of Darkhorse along lower lashes.
-Creep lightly blended into the outer corners.
-Sin blended along edge of Smog on eyelid, concentrating the color on inner part of eyelid.
-Virgin blended along brow and inner corners.
-Revlon Colorstay liquid liner along upper lashes.
-Revlon Colorstay pencil on upper and lower waterlines.
-Covergirl Lashblast mascara.

I am soo very excited to be blogging from my own laptop. My charger came in and the first thing I did was start uploading and editing pics for posts lol. Here’s a haul from the last two weeks:

Pink and Red NOTDs

Happy Saturday Lovely Readers!
I miss you guys and blogging so much! Class is still kicking my butt, and my laptop charger isn’t here yet :/. I’m writing this from the dinosaur of a personal computer that my family has; uploading pics is taking HOURS. The charger should be here by Monday, and my final exam is that night, so I should be back in full blogging mode by Tuesday. Seriously, this semester has drained me. Cannot wait for summer! Here are two nail colors I’ve worn over the past week and a half or so.
America by Zoya. This is my favorite red ever! It’s creamy, opaque, and the formula is amazing. $7 at Ulta. Sorry for the pic, I took it at the nail salon and had to capture it before it chipped; my toes were still being worked on :P.
