Army Green Obsession

Happy Sunday Babes šŸ™‚

The military trend has had a hold on me since the start of this year, when we first started to see it come into the stores. My fashion merchandising professor had us follow a trend from January until May in a journal of pictures/notes; I chose the military trend. I had to train myself to spot it in stores, on people, in magazines, on TV, everywhere! Over the course of the semester I really came to love the trend. The colors were my favorite part. Olive greens, beiges, browns, and the antiqued gold details can go from day to night and they look good on just about everyone.
Today, I’m in faded jeans, a beige cami, white t, army green sandals with antique gold detail, an antique gold bangle and earrings, and a soft brown worn leather purse. To complement the outfit, I put together the eye look below:

Products used:
-MAC shimmermoss paint pot in the lid, stopping right at the crease and Painterly paint pot from the crease to the brow and along the lower lashes.
-MAC sumptuous olive eyeshadow packed in to the lid and blended up a little bit past he crease. Also blended along the lower lashline.
-Sonia Kashuk eyeshadow duo in Razzle Dazzle, using the gold on the inner corners of the eyes.
-MAC Dazzlelight as a highlight along the brow.
-Revlon Colorstay liquid liner in blackest black.
-Stila Eye Kajal in Onyx
-Covergirl Lashblast Fusion mascara in Blackest Black.

Face:
-Makeup Forever Mat Velvet+
-MAC MSF in Medium
-MAC Springsheen blush

What do you think of the military trend?

  1. ooh such a gorgeous makeup look! im not big on camo but i do love the shoulder details and amazing military blazers from the trend…also, olive is a great colour and beige/camel is growing on me since i saw the aw10 collections

  2. I love that dress! It looks absolutely amazing. Does army green really suit everyone? I’ve never had it work on me, guess I never tried that hard either. I’m very pale with pink undertones and dark blonde hair. You have the perfect look for army green, I think šŸ™‚ And I love your makeup! šŸ™‚

    • Thank you! There are so many variations on the green, I’m sure I could find a good one for you. From looking at your blog, maybe a lighter colored olive would suit your skin šŸ™‚

  3. i’m so jealous that you can do such pretty eyeshadow so easily – i’m so EXCITED about getting dolled up on Friday, I can’t even tell you.

  4. I love military-inspired fashion and I especially like accessories with a tough edge. True random story: I used to work on an Army base and I used to laugh at the guy who drove a fancy schmancy H2 to work there (we were an R&D campus, 99% civilian). It just seemed like such a poser vehicle in the circumstance. Other true random story: I am licensed to drive a military humvee. Actually, my license may have lapsed by now, but I still have it. šŸ™‚

I am so envious of your amazing, perfect winged eyeliner. Once in a while I get it right, but it takes me so darn long I don’t bother trying on weekdays.

    • That is awesome, I wish I could drive a humvee! Oh gosh, the liner has taken me close to 10 (eek!) years of practice…and I still have days where I can’t do it so I wash my face and stick to mascara. The stiff little applicator on Revlon’s eyeliner is really easy to use, better than a soft brush in my opinion šŸ™‚

  5. Oooooooh, I love your shadow look. Those colours are lovely. Love the shape of your brows too, I’ve been trying to get mine like that for a long time now…
